Position Overview

Humming Transport LLC is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Independent Freight Broker Agent to join our growing brokerage network. This is a 1099 independent contractor position designed for professionals who can operate independently, manage their own book of business, and generate revenue through strong shipper and carrier relationships.

The ideal candidate understands the full freight cycle and is confident in sourcing, negotiating, booking, and managing loads from pickup through delivery.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in freight dispatching or freight brokerage
• Proven hands-on experience with:
  • DAT Load Board
  • Truck stop
  • AscendTMS
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Rate negotiation
  • Carrier sourcing and vetting
  • Shipper communication
  • Load tracking and issue resolution
  • Documentation management (Rate Confirmations, BOLs, PODs)
• Ability to manage loads independently from start to finish
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Self-disciplined and goal-oriented mindset

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and secure freight opportunities
• Source and onboard qualified carriers
• Negotiate competitive rates with both shippers and carriers
• Enter and manage loads in AscendTMS
• Monitor shipments and provide consistent updates
• Ensure timely collection of PODs and accurate documentation
• Maintain strong relationships to drive repeat business
