Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Independent Freight Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and securing freight shipments, building relationships with clients, and coordinating transportation logistics. You will work with a network of carriers to ensure timely and efficient delivery while negotiating competitive rates. This is a commission-based position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to grow your own business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new clients for freight shipments.
- Negotiate rates and terms with customers and carriers.
- Manage logistics, including coordinating shipments and tracking progress.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in freight brokerage or logistics preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and sales skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive.
Compensation: Commission-based with potential for high earnings based on performance.
